Scrumble Wood Farm is ...

... our best attempt at realizing a desire that is both within and beyond us: Our desire to live a fulfilling, sustainable, community- and relationship-centered lifestyle. The farm is a tangible expression of our hope that humans can individually and collectively respect, honor, and protect the land and animals that sustain us.

... a way to keep our hands and hearts rooted in the kitchen. We find the work of growing and raising our food to be extremely rewarding and exceedingly delicious. Through our work, we're able to honor seasonal and life cycles, human innovation and tradition, and the many relationships that sustain us physically, emotionally, spiritually. Our cooking becomes a creative outlet for the abundance that fills bellies and nourishes souls.

... how we recognize the journey of learning, loving, and growing. The farm, as in the rest of life, gives us a daily opportunity to step up and be accountable, which can be stressful and overwhelming at times. The farm also gives us the chance to simply be —
to observe the way the world turns and how the forest endures. We fail, and we journey on. We try our best to show infinite gratitude for our friends, our family, our community, our animals, and the universe that holds us firmly and freely.

... a scrappy crew of heritage breed animals, several acres of forest, and our ever-improving attempts at gardening. We raise pigs, ruminants, poultry, and rabbits, tend to a beautiful horse, try to contain our two guardian dogs, and submit ourselves for daily approval to a ragtag bunch of fluffy cats.
